What metadata does this remove?

It strips EXIF data — including GPS location, camera and lens model, device, software and timestamps — plus XMP and IPTC blocks. For JPEG and PNG it removes only the metadata segments and leaves the image data untouched, so there is no quality loss.

Why remove EXIF before uploading product photos?

Photos taken on a phone can embed your GPS location and device details. Stripping them protects your privacy and avoids leaking where a photo was taken, which also helps when reusing images across multiple accounts.

What gets removed
