“Fit on background” keeps the whole photo and pads the edges (ideal for Amazon white-background main images). “Crop to fill” fills the frame and trims the overflow — drag the preview to choose what stays.

Marketplace image rules — the official specs, in plain English

New to selling? Every marketplace has its own image rules, and getting them wrong means a rejected listing or a main photo that won’t zoom. Below are the published requirements from each platform’s own seller documentation (current as of June 2026 — always double-check your seller center, since platforms update specs). Pick the matching preset in the tool above and your image meets them automatically.

MarketplaceImage sizeShapeMain-image backgroundFormatUse in this tool
Amazon Longest side ≥ 1600px to enable zoom; 2000px safe. Under 500px is rejected. Square 1:1 required look Pure white RGB 255,255,255; product fills ~85% JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF — not WebP Preset 2000px · Fit on background (white) · JPG
Shopify 2048 × 2048px recommended (up to 5000×5000, 20MB) Square 1:1, keep a consistent ratio Your choice — white is cleanest JPG, PNG, WebP Preset 2048px
eBay ≥ 500px required; ≥ 1600px turns on zoom (max 12MB) Square 1:1 recommended Clean / white recommended JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP Preset 1600px
TikTok Shop ≥ 600px (below is rejected); 800–1080px recommended (max 5MB) Square 1:1 Clean white / light JPG, PNG Preset 1080px
Temu Longest side ≥ 1600px advised (under 3MB) Square 1:1 White / neutral JPG, PNG, JPEG Preset 1600px (Temu)
Shopee ≥ 500×500 required; 1024 × 1024px recommended (max 5MB) Square 1:1 Clean JPG only Preset 1024px · JPG

Required = the platform rejects images that miss it. Recommended = the platform’s own best-practice advice. Temu publishes no single spec page, so its figures reflect what Temu’s seller guidance and onboarding consistently state.

File naming — what each platform expects

Amazon — a strict, required format

For bulk image upload, Amazon matches photos to listings by filename. The format is identifier.variant.ext — e.g. B07XXXX.MAIN.jpg for the main image, PT01PT08 for extra views, SWCH for a colour swatch. Any space, dash or underscore and Amazon silently ignores the file.

✔ In the tool: choose File naming → Amazon bulk and enter your ASIN/UPC/SKU once.

Shopify & your own store — the filename is SEO

Shopify keeps your original filename in the image’s URL and you can’t rename it after upload, so it carries real SEO weight. Use lowercase words separated by hyphens that describe the product — blue-cotton-t-shirt.jpg, never IMG_4392.jpg. Google reads hyphens as word separators.

✔ In the tool: choose File naming → SEO / web store and type a short description.

eBay · TikTok Shop · Temu · Shopee — keep it clean

These platforms re-host and rename your images when you upload, so the filename doesn’t affect your live listing. The only rule that matters is practical: avoid spaces and special characters so uploads don’t fail. Tidy names also help you stay organised.

✔ In the tool: Keep original is fine, or use SEO / web store for neat, upload-safe names.

🔒 Everything above runs in your browser — your photos are resized and renamed locally and are never uploaded.
